1. No Splash Pages.
You can have a nice image there and a welcome message, but the splash page really doesn’t seem to do anything. They may have people clicking the “back” button. Provide value right at the beginning by showing your site content directly.
2) Keep banner ads at bay.
Banner ads waste valuable space and most visitors tend to ignore them. Valuable content should be the mainstay, interspersed with affiliate links that blend in beautifully. This will ensure the visitors buy naturally without being bombarded.
3) Ease of Navigation
Make your navigation menu so simple that even a child can work it. Avoid complicated Flash-based or multi-tiered dropdown menus. If visitors get lost, they leave.
4) Clearly Indicate User Location
Always let your visitors know where they are in your site, so that they may browse the relevant information or navigate to other sections. Never confuse your visitors because as the saying goes, confusion means abandonment.
5) Use Audio Sparingly
Infinite audio annoys visitors who will stay on your website for long. If you have to play audio then provide either volume or mute options to enhance user experience but never cause frustration.
